On Sunday, March 25th our Sunday Workshop trainer Lara Marquez continued her BOOTY workout series and paired it with a BACK strengthener. Squats, thrusts, rows and more.

Nutrition & Wellness Specialist, International Speaker & Lifestyle Coach, Elisa Graci, also spoke to us about Sugar Busting and Optimal Health, since she thinks that we are “Sweet Enough Already.” 😉

Before and After Video Reveal of Youtuber Jus Reign’s Toronto Condo Designed by Spaces by Jacflash

Spaces by jacflash is super excited to reveal youtuber Jus Reign’s Downtown Toronto condo!

The theme that Jus Reign requested was “Reign Forest”, so we pulled some of his existing furniture with new pieces, adding organic textures, endless plants and warmer tones throughout the space.

The problem that a lot of condo residents are facing is trying to make a cookie cutter condo feel like home. We addressed this issue by creating a completely custom and unique space for Jus Reign’s “reignforest” condo.

To avoid being too thematic with the reignforest vibe, Spaces by Jacflash chose a natural colour palette with organic textures. To brighten up an otherwise boring hallway, we added a green vinyl, to introduce the theme to the rest of the space. Typically condos come with standard, flush mount lighting, so we’ve swapped out those lights with a matte black pendant and a great alternative to pot lights. The kitchen was already beautiful, but to add extra seating we added two stools on the island and a rope light pendant above the sink.

The affordable mid century modern sideboard is perfect for entertaining and storage. Jus Reign wanted to use his existing dining room set, so to tie it all together we added a glass globe chandelier pendant. A huge existing feature in this condo is the centred fireplace.

To showcase this feature, we’ve installed a concrete wallpaper and wood slat barrier wall. Again in the living room, he wanted to keep his existing sectional. The main changes we made to this room was with the use of fabric in the throws, pillows and rug.

In addition, the coffee table and side tables allow for easy entertaining. This feature wall is an affordable, but showcasing TV console. It’s amazing what a different textiles make. White, crisp bedding, a natural coloured jute rug, and hanging sconces, frame the existing furniture. You would not be able to tell you were in a condo by looking at these faux wood beams!

All the bathroom needed was a few accent pieces. The wood side table and large faux plant wall create a lush oasis.

Working with Jus Reign was obviously beyond entertaining and we loved everything about this project- the beautiful condo, his unique theme, the freedom he gave us to design and of course, his enthusiasm with not only the process but the final outcome! 03/18/18 Fitness by Jacflash, Women’s Legs, Booty and Arms Workshop with Trainer Lara Marquez and Acupuncturist Amrit Singh

Curls By Girls. Nothing tones the arms better than a bicep and tricep workout.

On Sunday, March 18th Fitness by Jacflash hosted another🔥 Sunday Booty Workshop with trainer Lara Marquez!

We were thrilled to have Flow water supply us with their naturally alkaline spring water.

We were equally excited to have Acupuncturist Amrit Singh speak for us at the beginning of the workshop.

Amrit explained to us how acupuncture works and how it can help us ladies regulate our hormones, PMS, skin, menstrual irregularities and assist in baby making on top of all the other things our we manage on a daily!
Amrit also:
1)  Demonstrated cupping and explained it’s benefits

 

2)  Showed us some self-acupressure love to help move our energy when we are feeling down or low on energy, which she showed can easily be done at your desk in less than 5 minutes!
3) Demonstrated a quick facial acupressure protocol that we can do for puffy eyes, if you feel foggy headed or when you need a quick pick me after staring at the computer screen for too long!

Our Sunday trainer Lara Marquez then paired up our BOOTY workout series with squats, thrusts and lunges.

 

03/14/18 Fitness by Jacflash’s Power Yoga Women’s Workshop with Yoga Instructor Kay Ghajar and Life and Soul Coach Catie Fenn

On Wednesday March, 14th from 7-9pm at Love Child Social House, Fitness by Jacflash hosted our third Power Yoga Women’s Workshop with Yoga Instructor Kay Ghajar and and Life and Soul Coach Catie Fenn

and tea was provided for the evening by the incredible Safa Roma Tea, a tea company that with every product you purchase, you help build a sustainable business that shapes the lives ofAfghan female farmers and their families.

In this workshop, life and soul coach, speaker, and practicing lawyer Catie Fenn spoke about how her carefully curated life came crashing down after she realized that outward success was never going to equal true happiness. She lead us in a meditation, self-inquiry based reflections and life changing discussion that empowered us to take our happiness to the next level and to create a life that feels exciting and fulfilling.

Our yoga instructor Kay Ghajar (@kayghajar) has been practicing yoga for almost 10 years. She began exploring different styles of yoga after taking courses in positive psychology, which informed on the benefits of yoga and meditation. After a traumatic life event in university and failed progression through traditional counselling, she started practicing yoga and keeping a gratitude jar, which began her healing process and changed her outlook on life.

Kay received her 200-hour teaching certificate at Power Yoga Canada and will lead us through an amazing Power Yoga session. Her detailed, descriptive instruction and high energy makes the class exciting, comprehendible and achievable for the women in the class who are all at different levels.

 

One of our regular assistant yoga instructors Meredith Marr (@meredimarr and @the.sweet..sweat.yoga.life) blessing us with her guidance and love throughout the workshop.

03/08/18 Women’s Day Workshop with Fitness by Jacflash and Fit Squad!

MOVE is a beautiful boutique fitness club exclusively for women on Toronto’s east side offering small group training and personal training services.

Sistering is a multi-service agency for at-risk, socially isolated women in Toronto who are homeless or precariously housed. Serving the commodity for over 35 years, validating women’s experiences regardless of outcomes. These marginalized women come from diverse backgrounds and include: women with substance use and mental health issues; women who have experienced, or are experiencing trauma and violence; immigrant and refugee women; women with disabilities and women without legal status.
Sistering creates a safe, welcoming and non-judgmental space for women. They are guided by principles of feminism, anti-racism and anti-oppression. Sistering offers practical and emotional support to women who experience social isolation, homelessness or precarious housing, trauma and violence, discrimination, substance use, or need mental health support. Their equitable programs and services enable women to take greater control over their lives. Sistering works in collaboration with others in the community to change the social conditions that endanger women’s welfare.

Our speaker Michal Kay was the 2017 Campaign Director for Jagmeet Singh’s successful NDP Leadership Campaign. She was one of Chatelaine’s Top Women in Canada of 2017. Michal currently sits on the Board of the Broadbent Institute, The Urban Worker Project, and the Toronto Environmental Alliance.

She served as Chief of Staff to Toronto City Councillor Mike Layton and in 2014 she was Field Director for Olivia Chow’s Toronto Mayoral Campaign.
Through her work and activism, Michal has had leading roles on a number of issue based and electoral campaigns at the municipal, provincial and federal levels across Canada.
Our workout was lead by Fit Squad, a personal training and small group fitness training company located in downtown Toronto.
